Equipment description: aftermarket running board kits installed on minivans. a jack adapter sold in some of these running board kits can create an unstable vehicle condition when it is used with the jack to raise the vehicle.

Consequence:

The vehicle could fall off the jack increasing the risk of personal injury to persons working on the vehicle.

Correction:

Dealers will remove the adapter from the jack package and install four permanent jack locator/extension pads.

Notes:

Dealer notification began august 10, 1998.owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact chrysler at 1-800-992-1997.also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
