- Defect:
- Honda (american honda motor co.) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 cbr300ra, cbr300r and cb300f motorcycles. the affected motorcycles may have an improperly machined crankshaft which may result in the failure of the connecting rod bearing retainer.
- Consequence:
- If the connecting rod bearing retainer fails, the engine may stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Correction:
- Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the crankshaft assembly, free of charge. the recall began on august 26, 2016. owners may contact honda customer service at 1-866-784-1870. honda's number for this recall is kb9.
