2006 YAMAHA YZFR6 Recall

Defect:: On certain motorcycles, the air filter mounting screws may come loose and fall out.
Consequence:: If the screws fall out, they could get caught in the throttle valve which could prevent the operator from reducing engine speed properly. this could result in a loss of control and a vehicle crash with injury or death.
Correction:: Dealers will replace the air filter element with a new one that is designed to hold the screws securely free of charge. the recall began on november 29, 2006. owners may contact yamaha at 714-761-7842.
