- Vehicle description: transit buses with drive axle equipped with drum brakes only. the design of the differential cross-member reinforcement can crack under certain applications.
- Consequence:
- This condition could reduce the steering capability making it difficult for the driver to do accurate turns.
- Correction:
- Dealers will install two other reinforcements to solidify the cross-member assembly.
- Notes:
- Owner notification began december 10, 1997. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact prevost at 1-418-883-3391.also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
