Defect:

The involved vehicles were modified by removing two rear seats and installing two full size seats in their place. this creates a conflict with federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 217, "school bus emergency exit extension". the required amount of clearance is not provided in the rear of the vehicles.

Correction:

The larger seats will be removed and the orginal seats reinstalled.
