- Equipment description: air-conditioning evaporators equipped with motor products, inc. fans. the evaporator motor wiring can overheat causing a possible ignition source.
- Consequence:
- A fire could occur.
- Correction:
- Dealers will provide individual circuit protection for each evaporator fan motor, to prevent the possibility of overheated wiring.
- Notes:
- Owner notification began october 15, 1998. owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact trans/air at 1-800-673-2446.also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).

- Equipment description: air-conditioning evaporators. the evaporator motor could stall, due to corrosion caused by condensate water entering the motor, resulting in high amperage draw. this can cause the motor components to overheat.
- Consequence:
- The motor components overheating can provide an ignition source, possibly resulting in a fire.
- Correction:
- Dealers will inspect and repair these evaporators.
- Notes:
- Owner notification began january 29, 1999. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact trans/air at 1-800-673-2446.also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
