Equipment description: air-conditioning evaporators equipped with motor products, inc. fans. the evaporator motor wiring can overheat causing a possible ignition source.
Consequence:
A fire could occur.
Correction:
Dealers will provide individual circuit protection for each evaporator fan motor, to prevent the possibility of overheated wiring.
Notes:
Owner notification began october 15, 1998. owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact trans/air at 1-800-673-2446.also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).

Equipment description: air-conditioning evaporators. the evaporator motor could stall, due to corrosion caused by condensate water entering the motor, resulting in high amperage draw. this can cause the motor components to overheat.
Consequence:
The motor components overheating can provide an ignition source, possibly resulting in a fire.
Correction:
Dealers will inspect and repair these evaporators.
Notes:
Owner notification began january 29, 1999. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact trans/air at 1-800-673-2446.also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
