Defect:

Axles may develop fatigue cracks in axle spindle that could propagate into a transverse crack.

Consequence:

Spindle end failure and wheel separation could occur andconstitute a hazard to users of the roadway, bystanders and adjacent property.

Correction:

Replace axles with axles manufactured with butt weld spindles, rather than the original integral spindles.
