- Defect:
- During assembly, the tie rod end nuts were not properly torqued. extremely low torque can allow movement between the ball stud and the tie rod arm causing damage.
- Consequence:
- This condition can affect the driver's ability tosteer the vehicle increasing the potential for a vehicle accident.
- Correction:
- Rockwell will notify the truck manufacturers who purchased these axles to check for proper torque and, where necessary, tighten to specifications.
