Equipment description: 16"x7.5" 8-lug x 165.1 mm wheels: series 961, dragon chromed wheel; series 960, dragon polished wheel; series 96, dragon painted wheel; series 931, gemini chromed wheel; series 930, gemini polished wheel; and series 93, gemini painted wheel. cracks in the wheels can develop if they are heavily loaded. these wheels were manufactured from september 1995 to july 1998.

Consequence:

Mangels has determined that the actual maximum load rating for each of the wheels is lower than the wheel's published maximum load rating. in the event that the wheel is loaded in excess of its actual load rating, the possibility exists that the wheel could crack at the spoke or drop center, resulting in a crash which could cause injury.

Correction:

Mangels will replace the dragon and gemini 8-lug wheels with wheels having actual load ratings appropriate for the vehicles on which they are used free of charge. customers will be instructed to contact their local retailer for service.

Notes:
