Defect:

Equipment description: two-in-one car seats, models beginning with 636 and 637. the seat's backrest and base have separated when the occupant is restrained by the seat's 5-point harness. this does not comply with the requirements of fmvss no. 213, "child restraint systems."

Consequence:

If the backrest and base were to separate in a vehicle crash, the child in the seat could be injured.

Correction:

Evenflo will replace these seats.
