Defect:

Some of these devices have experienced an electrical shorting within the module.

Consequence:

If an electrical short occurs, a fire could result orthe starter solenoid would activate causing unwanted forward motion of thevehicle increasing the potential for a vehicle accident.

Correction:

Dealers will install a 1/16 ampere fuse in the wiring leading to the anti-theft device.
