Defect:

Certain sumitomo dunlop motor scooter tires, sizes 150/70-13m 64s sx01 and 130/70-13m 63p sx01 rf, do not comply with the high-speed performance requirement of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 119, new pneumatic tires.

Consequence:

Tread separation between the top ply and the tread rubber can occur, possibly resulting in a loss of control and a vehicle crash.

Correction:

Sumitomo will notify owners and replace the tires free of charge. the recall began on decemer 17, 2007.
