Defect:

Tire description: tire size 9-14.5 tubeless load range f - serial nos. upmmcca389, upmmcca399, and upmmcca409. these tires have an inadequate inner liner.

Consequence:

Air can permeate into the tire carcass and result in separation. if the separation is not detected, continued use could cause the ply cords to break, the tubeless linner to tear, and a loss of air pressure. loss of air can result in loss of control and a vehicle crash.

Correction:

Dealers will inspect these tires and replace, mount, and balance the new tire at no charge.

Notes:

Owner notification is expected to begin during january 2000.owners who take their tires to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact cooper tire customer relations at 1-800-854-6288. also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
