Defect:

The red release button can rotate upward in a crash or sudden stop, making it possible for the buckle to release the shoulder harness.

Consequence:

The buckle release of the shoulder harness duringa sudden stop or accident increases the risk of injury to a child in the seat.

Correction:

A kit to retrofit the child safety seat with a modified release button assembly will be provided to consumers. consumers can call century at 1-800-255-2220 to obtain these kits.
