- Defect:
- During compliance testing, a crotch strap assembly separated from the shell of an infant restraint. this does not comply with requirements of fmvss 213, "child restraint systems."
- Consequence:
- In the event of a collision, the occupant of the child seat may not be properly restrained increasing the risk of injury.
- Correction:
- Kolcraft will provide owner with instructions to examine the crotch strap retainer clip and for realigning the clip if it has been misinstalled. a sticker will also be provided for installation on the child restraint notifying the user of the possibility of a misaligned strap retainer clip with simple instructions for its realignment.
