Defect:

Altec industries inc. (altec) is recalling certain 2014-2017 altec flatbed bodies with stake rails. the stake rails may not be properly retained, allowing them to become dislodged.

Consequence:

If the stake rails become dislodged while the vehicle is moving, it can increase the risk of an injury or a crash.

Correction:

Altec will notify owners and provide stake rail retention kits, free of charge. the recall began on june 21, 2018. owners may contact altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. altec's number for this recall is csn 680.
