Defect:: Jerr-dan corporation (jerr-dan) is recalling certain model year 2007-2014 standard duty wreckers manufactured november 1, 2007, through march 3, 2014. in the affected vehicles, the underlift boom tilt cylinder may drift down while a vehicle is being towed.
Consequence:: If the underlift boom tilt cylinder drifts down during towing, the vehicle that is being towed may contact the road surface, increasing the risk of the vehicle crash.
Correction:: Jerr-dan will notify owners and dealers will replace the underlift tilt circuit counterbalance valve, free of charge. the recall began in july 2014. owners may contact jerr-dan customer service at 1-800-926-9666.
