Defect:

Tracker marine is recalling certain model year 2010-2013 mako 18 lts boat and trailer packages consisting of mako lts boats and 2009-2012 ez loader-brand ab 18-20 trailers, manufactured from january 8, 2009, through june 6, 2011. the trailers may not have sufficient load carrying capacity to carry the boats which they were intended to transport. thus, the trailers may be overloaded and fail to comply with the requirements of part 567, "certification."

Consequence:

Trailer overloading may cause axle or tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.

Correction:

Tracker marine will notify owners, and dealers will remedy the trailers, free of charge. the remedy will depend on the particular boat and trailer combination, but may include replacement of axle assemblies, installation of brakes and/or replacement of wheels and tires. the safety recall began on october 4, 2012. owners may contact tracker marine at 417-873-4588.
