Defect:

On certain trailers, during manufacture, some of the pipe fittings were drilled too deep, resulting in a thin wall in the male pipe thread. the male pipe thread may break off during or after assembly.

Consequence:

If the fitting fails while in use, the air brake system could depressurize, causing the brakes to engage suddenly, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash.

Correction:

Dealers will quarantine the vehicles and replace defective fitting free of charge. the recall is expected to begin during november 2006. owners may contact sidump's at 402-582-4830.
