Defect:

On certain motorcycles and scooters, the rear brake shoe material could separate due to improper adhesive curing.

Consequence:

If such separation occurs during operation, braking ability with the rear wheel will be reduced or lost, which could cause a crash.

Correction:

Dealers will replace the rear brake shoes. the recall began on october 8, 2004. owners should contact yamaha at 1-800-889-2624.
