- Defect:
- On certain motorcycles, the throttle cables come into contact with the tunnel portion of the fuel tank.
- Consequence:
- In this condition, the cables could eventually wear through the tank, causing a fuel leak. fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire.
- Correction:
- Dealers will inspect the cable and tank, reposition the cable and, if necessary, repair or replace the tank and/or cables free of charge. the recall began on october 31, 2005. owners may contact harley-davidson at 1-414-343-4056.
