Defect:: On certain trucks distributed by dodge or freightliner and equipped with a tire valve, tr600, on 16" tires, the valve can develop cracks within the rubber part or between the metal part and the rubber part of the valve stem.
Consequence:: Such cracking may lead to a loss of air pressure at the valve stem, increasing the risk of a crash.
Correction:: Dealers will replace the tire valves on all sprinter vehicles. the recall began on april 4, 2005. owners should contact daimlerchrysler at 1-800-853-1403.
