On certain heavy duty class 8 trucks with volvo b-ride rear suspension, the forward and/or rear drive axle upper axle upper seat could break allowing the affected axle to shift out of alignment.
Consequence:
This condition could result in loss of axle stability, increasing the risk of a crash.
Correction:
Volvo truck sent notification letters to owners for autocar on january 14, 2003. dealers will replace the upper axle seat on both rear drive axles. owners who take their vehicle to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact autocar at 765-964-3121.

On certain heavy duty class 8 trucks assembled by volvo trucks, the transmission may go into forward gear without the driver first pressing down on the brake pedal.
Consequence:
This condition could allow the vehicle to move forward without warning, creating the potential for a vehicle crash.
Correction:
Dealers will install an additonal air operated stop light switch and necessary wiring changes. owner notification began september 2003. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact autocar at 765-489-5499.

On certain trucks equipped with allison heavy duty transmissions, the bolts fastening the propshaft to the transmission yoke were not tightened sufficiently. loose bolts can cause dislocation of the propshaft.
Consequence:
This condition could cause the vehicle to lose power to its wheels and result in a crash.
Correction:
Dealers will inspect and re-tighten bolts to the required specifications . customers who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact autocar at 1-765-489-5499.
