Defect:: Vehicle description: motorcycles. the gasket between the fuel tank and the fuel pump mounting plate can lose its ability to provide a tight seal, allowing fuel to drip from the gasket.
Consequence:: In the presence of an ignition source, fuel leakage can result in a fire.
Correction:: Dealers will install a redesigned fuel pump gasket on these motorcycles.
Notes:: Owner notification began june 29, 1998.owners who take their motorcycles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact suzuki at 1-800-255-2550.also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (-1888-327-4236).
