Defect:

Terex telelect is recalling certain model year 1999 through 2009 texoma 330 auger drills with telescoping polesetter extension mounted on trucks. the vehicles involved utilized a hydraulic cylinder to articulate the polesetter extension. the vehicles are pressure diggers used to drill holes and handle poles. the extension can have unintended movement up to 4 to 6 inches when other functions are operated.

Consequence:

Unintended movement of the extension can be dangerous to the operator which could result in death or serious injury.

Correction:

Terex will notify owners and will repair the vehicles free of charge. the safety recall began on april 16, 2010. owners may contact terex's utilities warranty department at 1-605-884-3892.
