- Defect:
- The top hinged rear gate (door) horizontal structural member develops fatigue cracks because of bending at the hinges and center brace attachment bracket.
- Consequence:
- If fatigue cracks progress far enough, the rear gate canseparate and fall off, without warning, into the path of following traffic,and cause other vehicles to crash.
- Correction:
- Reinforce the hinges and the center brace attachment bracket by qualified welders from dorsey authorized firms.
