1989 ROAD RESCUE TYPE I Recall

- Defect:
- The ten(10) mounts which are used to attach the ambulance module to the modified light truck chassis can fracture due to metal fatigue.
- Consequence:
- Fracture of the mounts can cause vehicle handling problems which may result in an accident.
- Correction:
- Gusset plates will be installed on all vehicles connecting the longitudinal beams to the transverse beams. also, if inspection discloses a fractured mount, a steel reinforcement bar will be installed to further stablilize the mount. these vehicles will also be re-inspected annually by road rescue or its dealers.
