Defect:

Hydrogen embrittlement of screws used to hold together valve body causes the screws to break off under stress.

Consequence:

The loss of brake valve integrity could cause an increasein stopping distance, or loss of braking control in affected trailers. eithercondition could cause an accident.

Correction:

Manufacturer will replace valves with different body screws.
