Defect:: Platform trailer hitches were produced from other than pure steel. consequently, the hitch will not withstand normal stresses.
Correction:: The hitch platform assembly will be replaced on all involved vehicles.
Notes:: Vehicle description: vans equipped with platform-type trailer hitches.system: equipment; trailer hitch torsion bar.consequences of defect: trailer hitch torsion bar may break as the trailer isbeing towed. the trailer would separate from the towing vehicle, possiblyresulting in an accident and personal injury.
