Campaign:
77V145000 on 10/11/1979
Component:
Service brakes, air:antilock:interconnecting assembly(wiring)
Affected:
185
Defect:
The involved vehicles may not comply with federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 121, "air brake systems". the trailer brake control air line was connected to the front brake double check valve rather than the stop lamp switch double check valve, such that in the event of a failure of the truck front brake system the trailer brakes cannot be applied using the service brake control (treadle valve).
Correction:
Dealer will inspect and connect the brake control air line to the proper valve, without charge to owner.
Notes:
Vehicle description: trucks equipped with air brake models w/rq3 and w/j91.system: service brakes; trailer brake controls.consequences of defect: loss of treadle valve control over the trailer brakeswould increase vehicle stopping distance and could result in an accident.

Component:
Power train:automatic transmission
Affected:
1,226
Notes:
Chevrolet campaign no 75-c-09.gmc campaign no 75-c-07.equipped with mt-65allison transmission matched with 366 or 427 cid v-8 engine.heavy dutytrucks.possibility that during the corrective action to eliminate the defectcovered in recall campaign 74-0226.november 18, 1974, the governor assemblywas reworked to replace the nylon driven gear with a bronze driven gear.ithas been determined that as a result of this rework, nylon chips of sufficientsize may have been left in the governor assembly, which could plug the governorvalve oil port.if this occurs, it could cause transmission components tobreak and flying fragments could result in personal injury.(correct byinspecting and replacing complete governor assembly with one containing bronzedriven gear.)

Campaign:
75V150000 on 10/11/1979
Component:
Service brakes, hydraulic:pedals and linkages
Affected:
97
Notes:
Chevrolet campaign no 75-c-14.gmc campaign no 75-c-09.possibility theservice brake pedal assembly may not have the serrations in the lower pedalmachined deeply enough to engage the serrations in the upper pedal.this mayresult in the upper pedal pivoting forward on its mounting bolt during ahardbrake application causing the brake pedal assembly to bind on the floorboard, restricting the application of the brakes.if this happens, it mayresult in a partial or complete loss of service brakes, and vehicle could crashwithout prior warning.(correct by inspecting and replacing lower brake pedalassembly).
